Date of recovery: 1993
Location of recovery: Wisconsin, U.S.A
Original problem: Imprinted to humans
Nero was taken from the wild as a nestling in 1974 to be used for research as part of the California Condor Project. He subsequently became imprinted and could not be released back to the wild. He lived at Carpenter Nature Center for many years before coming to The Raptor Center in 1993. One of the oldest birds at TRC, Nero is fully flighted. He resides in an exhibit on the main floor of The Raptor Center, where he enjoys sunbathing and the attention of visitors.
