Because The Raptor Center is part of the University of Minnesota, it is classed as a 170(c)1. However, gifts made for its benefit are accepted and managed by the University of Minnesota Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization. All accounts are kept separate based on the purpose of the gift designation.
