Friends of The Raptor Center

Friends Raptor

Click here to become a Friend of the Raptor Center today and make a difference tomorrow.

Your gifts are essential to helping us continue the work we do. Your gifts help provide the resources needed to rehabilitate injured and sick birds so they can return to the wild. They also help educate conservation-minded veterinarians and veterinary students in the care of these magnificent birds and allow us to reach out to the community with our unique educational programs. But that’s not all. Your donations also support exciting studies designed to help us understand how changes in the natural world affect raptors. We think all of these missions play a critical role in ensuring healthy populations of these wonderful birds in the wild.

As a Friend of The Raptor Center, you can choose among several levels of giving, or you can give a gift of any amount to be used where it is needed most. Every gift no matter how small helps us accomplish our goals.

The Helping Wing

Gifts to The Helping Wing go directly to the care and treatment of sick and injured raptors and support our programs on a day-to-day basis. Examples of what these donations can accomplish include:

•  $500 provides initial medical treatment for a lead-poisoned eagle or offsets surgical costs to repair a broken wing.

•  $250 helps sponsor an educational program to an underserved school. The stars of these programs are our winged ambassadors—birds whose injuries are so severe they will never be able to return to the wild. •  $100 helps us feed and house a sick or injured falcon for a month.

•  $50 provides owl pellets for a science class held at a low-income school. Educational programs like these expose children to the wonders of the natural world so they grow into adults who continue to appreciate and protect the habitat of raptors.

The Eagle Society

The Eagle Society provides unique opportunities for Friends of The Raptor Center to make a real difference. These gifts sustain our unique community outreach programs and support one-of-a-kind educational experiences for veterinarians who want to carry our legacy into the future. Eagle Society gifts also help us conduct intensive studies into how changes in the natural world impact raptors and ensure our facilities and equipment remain state-of-the-art.

•  Benefactor. Lifetime gifts of $5,000 help us offset operating costs and allow us to pursue ongoing studies into how climate change and environmental toxins impact the health of raptors.

•  Patron. A $3,000 gift helps provide much needed medical supplies and equipment, critical not only to helping sick and injured birds, but also in the continued teaching of veterinary students committed to conservation medicine.

•  Guardian. With a gift of $2,000, you can help us house and feed our ambassador birds.

•  Contributor. A $1,000 gift allows us to provide on-going in-house educational programs and tours.

Matching Gifts

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs. Please check with your employer to see whether it offers a program to match the level of your charitable donation. From time to time, The Raptor Center also offers matching gift opportunities through local foundations. To find out about foundation matching gift opportunities, go to www.TheRaptorCenter.org.

Corporate sponsorship

Corporate gifts are critical to our success and many corporations, particularly those concerned about environmental stewardship, continue to support the needs and goals of The Raptor Center. We are pleased to provide corporate sponsorship opportunities.  Corporate gifts help sustain The Raptor Center.

•  Platinum Corporate. Join an elite group of corporate donors with a gift of $25,000 or more. These gifts provide critical resources to offset capital improvements and operating costs. The Raptor Center depends on gifts of this level from corporations who take pride in being part of initiatives that help the environment.

Gold Corporate. For a gift of $15,000, you can join a very special group of supporters, who make a significant difference in the long-term well being of raptors and the education of veterinarians committed to working in conservation medicine.

•  Silver Corporate. A gift of $5,000 helps us maintain our educational programs and allows us to continue to play an essential role in the health of the ecosystems that support raptors.
