Clinic Internship
Internship in Raptor and Avian Medicine The Raptor Center is offering a veterinary medical internship to gain additional clinical experience through supervised, hands-on clinical experience. Upon successful completion of the internship program, the intern is awarded a certificate of completion. This internship is intended to be a two-year, dependent on funding and job performance. Degree and/or credentials: DVM or VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited college of Veterinary Medicine or a degree of veterinary medicine from a comparable foreign institution. Benefits: Receives benefits as defined for the Veterinary Intern and in keeping with meeting any specified eligibility requirements.
Responsibilities (representative listing): The primary duties and responsibilities of the intern include a broad spectrum of activities related to gaining clinical experience. Interns manage cases under the supervision of faculty and assist with all aspects of clinical care of raptors, including captive management, capture and restraint, anesthesia, diagnostics, necropsy, record-keeping and research projects. Interns provide assistance in the instruction and supervision of undergraduate veterinary students; provide emergency care during non-scheduled hours' and participate in departmental seminar series as expected.
